TAG Heuer Carrea Jack Heuer 80th anniversary limited edition: timeless chrono

To celebrate the 80 spring Jack Heuer, creator of the iconic Carrera watch, Swiss watch brand TAG Heuer will market a limited edition called Carrera Calibre 17 Chronograph Jack Heuer 80th. A time in 41 mm steel with a grey dial bicompax and date, sports and timeless.

In 1963, Jack W. Heuer, son of Charles-Edouard Heuer, began work on a new chronograph designed specifically for drivers and motor racing fans. Big fan of Motorsports, Jack Heuer knows exactly what it needs: an open and easily readable dial associated with a housing waterproof and rugged, sturdy enough to withstand the shocks inherent in sports driving.

The following year, the result of his work is finally marketed: it’s a mechanical chronograph baptized wound Carrera, in homage to the Carrera Pan Americana, legendary race of the 1950s which¬†Replica omega watches spanned five days and 3 300 kilometres through the Mexico.

This event, regarded as the most prestigious endurance race and the more perilous, remains today synonymous with excitement, danger, adventure and heroism.

Jack Heuer could have imagined a better name for this most ambitious creation. Thanks to the simplicity, purity and the simplicity of its dial design, the Carrera was a huge success and opens a real golden age for Heuer brand in terms of creativity and innovation.

The first to wear this watch are the Scuderia Ferrari drivers: Carlos Reutemann, Clay Regazzoni, Jacky Ickx, Niki Lauda, Mario Andretti, Gilles Villeneuve and Jody Scheckter. Soon, they were joined by other stars of the formula 1 of the 1970s as Jo Siffert, Ronnie Peterson, Emerson Fittipaldi, Denis Hulme and John Surtees. It was at this time that sees the day the Carrera gold 18 k, extremely rare piece that will remain the favorite model of Jack W. Heuer.

This year, Jack celebrates his 80th birthday with a new chronograph in limited edition of 41 mm in diameter. The Grand opening and the counters located at 3 and 9 o’clock are directly inspired by the original design, all on a printed grey Sunray dial of the Heuer logo, with a touch of red.

On the bottom of the watch, we view the signing of Jack along with the coat of arms of the Heuer family, which dates from the 15th century. For Jack, this coat of arms represents the entrepreneurial spirit that animates TAG Heuer for over 150 years.

The Swiss watchmaking firm Breguet has presented at Basel 2012 a very nice watch form. Breguet Heritage Moon Phases demotes 8860. A timepiece very classy with its curved case tonneau-shaped in pink gold with an automatic calibre with retrograde moon phases.

The automatic calibre 586L which equips this timepiece can follow the trials and tribulations of a moon with the colours of the housing (pink or white gold) while the centre of the dial, guilloch√© natural mother-of-Pearl, displays hours and minutes with the needles Breguet “cored Apple” in polished steel.

It should be noted that a spiral flat Silicon anime this movement of lines, 38 rubies, equipped with a power reserve of 40 hours. “An additional Board of specific form has been developed for this phase of retrograde Moon without increasing the thickness of the movement” ensures the brand in its release.

The attention to details is a signature of Breguet. Thus, although it is not visible to the naked eye, the face of the Moon made a nod to the possessor of this timepiece. In addition, the oscillating weight Platinum is decorated with a guilloche hand.

This model is available in several versions, offering a choice between a curved shaped barrel pink gold case and Golden moon rose and a white gold case with rhodium-plated moon as well as between a (the most beautiful effect and very trend) braided leather bracelet or a gold bracelet.
